ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Storyteller at Heart

Once upon a time in early 2006, after purchasing a PC I had an urge, an urge to write and to pour my ideas and imagination onto the bright shiny screen sat before me. For many years I created a world and characters based on life experiences, with friends inadvertently helping me a long the way. It wasn’t long before the story was complete, but that was just the beginning. It took me another fourteen years and at least ten re-writes to finally have a story that I could be proud of. This was all about telling my story to my friends and family and to my future son or daughter at bedtime. That dream hasn’t come true yet as my son is a little to young, but I’m just hoping all the other kids around the world who are a bit older can read and enjoy the world and characters that I have created.

GRISHTON PODWOOD'S SACRED WINCHUP BAND

Book 1

Young, afraid and thousands of miles from home, Grishton Podwood has landed on the Zubious Islands to finally learn the true power of the winchup band bestowed on each Jagat at birth. He’s waited all his life for this moment; he’s dreamt of it hundreds of times and won’t let his fear stop him. But there is trouble on his home world of Tirish. A mysterious artefact called the Spectrolite Sphere has driven the island chieftain mad, and Grishton’s father, missing now for many years, was the only one brave enough to steal it from him. But the Sphere has already claimed another victim, Grishton’s father’s best friend, Kai Sareo, and he is now planning a war with the Jagats. Paranoid and craving vengeance, the island chieftain orders Grishton and his teammates to retrieve the Sphere and capture Kai Sareo. But it’s a mission that demands many sacrifices, and Grishton must use every drop of his courage and tenacity to prevent disaster, and find his long-lost father.

Not like Homer would I write,
Not like Dante if I might,
Not like Shakespeare at his best,
Not like Goethe or the rest,
Like myself, however small,
Like myself, or not at all.
